AppleBerries Early Education Burnside is a family-owned service seeking a motivated and dynamic Early Childhood Teacher. At AppleBerries Burnside, staff ARE our family. As a part of the Burnside leadership team, you will be surrounded by like-minded educators in a safe and exciting, yes, exciting environment. We are a team with a can-do attitude, and we love to have fun, laughing every day fills our cups! AppleBerries Burnside is located in a leafy and quiet street in Burnside. The building is bright and cheery, the yards are amazing with a very cool water park, and the resources are all modern and plentiful. Our core purpose is to profoundly enrich the lives of our children and families, and that directs all our daily activities.
About the role
In concert with our current ECT, this Early Childhood Teacher role is empowered with supporting the day-to-day management of the educational activities of our Kindy age children in a 22 place studio. The ECT are also responsible for leading a team tasked with setting our little ones up for a successful transition into big school. For AppleBerries, this falls into 5 broad categories:
Our Current Families. The ECT is the "face" of our kindy program. Your job is to surprise and delight our families with our educational outcomes. You are there to provide advice to parents as required, and to provide feedback on their child's progress (along with their educators). Nothing is too difficult or a bother when interacting with your parents. They are your guests, and you treat them with the same respect you would any guest in your own house.
Our Prospective Families. This is critical to our ongoing success. You have the ability to showcase your educational programs, educator team, and your expertise in the eyes of prospective families. After a prospective parent tours the centre, they cannot wait to enroll their child, you are that skilled at highlighting why their child NEEDS to attend AppleBerries.
Our Children. Of course, the reason you are involved in early childhood education is for the children. You are their advocate, their voice, and will move heaven and earth to ensure they have every opportunity to grow and develop to their full potential.
Our Team. You are prepared to step up as leader of a skilled group of teachers. You empower them to make decisions on their own, ensure they learn from their mistakes, and you are humble enough to know that you do not have all the answers. The smartest leaders surround themselves with people that are smarter than them, and then create an environment where those staff can be the best version of themselves.
Our Centre. You know your way around the sector. You understand the EYLF and help set up your educational experiences to exceed the NQF. You are an administrative expert and have experience in portals such as StoryPark or equivalent and your transition statements are second to none.
